I'm pretty sure he's giving it to Bush for his philanthropic efforts since leaving office.

I am pretty sure that Bush Sr. is a murderous piece of shit and that if he is being given the medal of freedom by Obama then Obama is a traitor to the memory of Dr. King Jr. and to every freedom loving person on the planet.
Being non-violent, I don't advocate the execution of Bush Sr. I do however advocate the effortless ignoring of him.

Bush did some really bad things, but he also did some really good things, but then who among us hasn't. The man did what he thought was the right thing to do at the time. I doubt MLK would take issue with that. I have to say though, since leaving office he has helped to raise a lot of aide for those in need worldwide. I'm assuming that's why Obama is giving him this award. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_H._W._BushSince I didn't walk in his shoes at the time nor was I privie to the information he was at the time he made his decisions I don't feel I can judge him for his choices. I do however know, that receiving these types of awards, while nice & they make you feel good about yourself for a short time, in the grand scheme of things, they really mean nothing. I've done some good things & received awards & such for my work, but I gotta tell you, the only thing I feel I'm leaving the world a better place for are my children. They're my proudest accomplishment. I wonder if Bush Sr can feel the same way.
