Great! Thanks for partaking in this. Really appreciate it and hope it will be worth your while.
First question- How long has Berth Control the band existed?

BC the band has existed about a year and a half. I met Cat (co-lead singer) in Feb of 09 and our first show was OJ all day 2009.

I was there!! Mamaries...
Anyway, the band's line up changes rather frequently. When are you most comfortable with that you're working with?
Are you ever completely comfortable with the band you bring on stage?

(Hopefully this question isn't too loaded, as I am a some-time member of the band myself...)

I has changed and surely will continue to. Usually born of necessity. For example...Anders, Toby and you often have things scheduled and can't play shows. This leads to lots of searching. Soul searching followed by musician searching. Ultimately, the easiest way to work is when it's me and Cat as a duo. Lots of control, but that's not the sound i prefer to project. My favorite is when everybody is there...a rarity...9 people banging away at those songs is the best way for me to hear it.

How long had the songs existed before you started the band?
Is the band sort of a diary come-to-life for you?

Most of the songs were written in the past year or two. A couple were culled from the history heap, shined and polished. Maybe like 80-20 ratio. As for the diary question...i didn't think of the band like that. I see it more like a sound collage...there's a lot of intertwining melodies and finding the right tones and 'colors' for each grouping of instruments is really interesting to me. Vocals is something new that i'm working on improving too. Cat and Toby are great singers so i'm always trying to stay strong with them.

Just out of curiosity, have you kept an instrumental version of "Breaks Metal"?
If at all possible, could you post that one for our readers at home?
Also trying to find the Bandcamp link to the band... Feel free to post that as well...

The instrumental version is on the Self Titled first EP also called "breaks metal". It's the last song and it's called "breaks spines". You can find most of our music streaming or downloadable for free here www.berthcontrol.bandcamp.com
